  3. Skill Events • Wall Ball [see video http://teacherspace.swindsor.k12.ct.us/staff/educlos/WallBallPage.htm] • Figure 8s [see next slide-#4] • “Win it, Move it!” [see slide #5]

  4. Figure 8s—2 rebound boards on ends of the figure 8. You have 1 minute. How many completed loops can you do? Rebounder Board Rebounder Board X Cone

  5. “Win it, Move it!” (Ground Balls) Coach rolls ball out 5 yards. X scoops, pivots, and throws to one of 2 receivers, only one R who has her stick up ready to receive the pass. Player identifies and passes.Goal: how many passes can you accurately throw in one minute? C X R R

  6. Fitness Events • 2400 meter Run—6 laps on the track; Target: under 11 ½ minutes. Players are ranked by their finish position. • Beep Test—sprints in the gym; Target: minimum is level 8. Players are ranked by their levels. • Jump Rope—jump for 3 minutes; Target: complete 3 minutes of jumping; we’re counting misses. • [Note: normally we do not focus on the negative, the mistake. However, mistakes do happen. What do you do when this occurs? Do you make the correction and move on or do you get flustered and panic?]

Strength/Core Events • Plank—hold a full plank (balanced on forearms) for 2 minutes [see videohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btB13yctCTU] • Push ups (modified)Target: 35 [see video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFyzS1Z_mxA&feature=related ] • Wall Squat— [Quad/leg endurance] [Video posted soon]

  8. We will also evaluate play in lacrosse game situations to determine the level of your game: • 1v1s • 3v2 Find Space (4 cones) • 3v3, 5v5, and 7v7(“small ball”) • Full-field scrimmages
