  4. Background Information • UH decided to: • Implement a software compliant with NACUBO, GASB, GAAP, the Comptroller General of the United States, and OMB Circular A-133 guidelines and standards

FMIS Information • FMIS = Financial Management Information System • Replaced 25+ year old fiscal system (FIS) on 07/01/1996 • Helpful if FOs have some accounting knowledge • Maintains financial information for the entire University separated into 12 campuses • Central and distributed data entry; external feeds • On-line/web inquiry and web eFMIS • Security
