The Official Colors • In the year 1904 Dwight B. Waldo assigned a committee to designate the school colors. • Since the year 1904 WMU has never changed the school colors. • Josephine (Wing) Jackson made the suggestion that brown and gold would be a smart choice for the school colors. http://www.phystec.org/wmu.html
Dwight B. Inspiration For The School Colors • The school colors were inspired by an abundance of Brown-eyed Susans that covered Prospect Hill • Brown-eyed Susan’s will bloom within the time period of June to September. http://www.primefocus-iowa.com/BrownEyedSusan2.jpg
