The idea that were able to buy alcohol around the clock is largely an urban myth with fewer than 4% of premises having licences to open 24 hours a day - many of which are hotels, stores and supermarkets. Its too early to be sure of the precise impact of the change in laws. In its recent review, Government concluded that its introduction has not led to the widespread problems that some feared. Overall, crime and alcohol consumption are down. But alcohol-related violence has increased in the early hours of the morning and some communities have seen a rise in disorder. We can fully understand the intention behind the change in law of preventing people from spilling out onto the streets at the same time. 7. ShotPak sachets were removed from sale because of their similarity to soft drinks, appeal to children and their encouragement of rapid and excessive drinking.
Sally Keeble, Northampton Norths MP, complained to the Portman Group about ShotPak drinks which are imported from the USA and sold in 50ml plastic pouches.
The pre-mixed vodka drinks are produced in four flavours: Apple Sour; Lemon Drop; Purple Hooter and Kamikaze. ShotPak sachets were removed from sale because of their similarity to soft drinks, appeal to children and their encouragement of rapid and excessive drinking.
