WHAT DOES ON-LINE LEARNING OFFER? • Individual access keys are purchased allowing candidates to use the programme on any computer that has access to the Internet • One access key per examined unit takes each candidate through a learning programme that suits their individual learning style • A record of individual progress is maintained • A secure learning environment • Immediate access to changes in content and material • Candidate can decide what they want to learn, how and when to learn it. Introducing four online study programmes from the Pensions Management Institute: • Determining Death Benefits • Determining Leavers’ Benefits • Determining Retirement Benefits • Transfers-in and Transfers-out • These are the four units which make up the Pensions Management Institute’s Level 4 Certificate in Pension Calculations (CPC) (for the Certificate in Pensions Administration (CPA) these are four optional units, and for Diploma in Pensions Administration (DPA) these are four mandatory units, plus four optional units.

The Learning Centre area is where the activities for this unit are held and it is where a learner will spend most of their time. Take a look:

The Learning Centre has three topics within it. You can see them in theleft-hand navigation panel. The three topics. Take a look at Final salary schemes:
This is the topic home page for Final salary schemes. There are fourdifferent types of activities within each topic and each type of activitywill help a learner with a certain preferred learning style to start bydoing something that they will find interesting. The Fact finding activities will help engage an “observer” or “thinker”. The Taking action activities will help engage an “experimenter”. The Number crunching activities will help engage a “doer”. The Quiz activities act as a self-assessment tool for learners.
The Resource Centre area acts as a supporting library for the LearningCentre and the programme will link from one to the other throughoutthe unit. Take a look:

This is the home page for the online unit Determining Leavers Benefits. The buttons at the bottom of the left-hand navigation panel show other options available to learners as they work through the online unit. Take a look at the “My progress” option.
The My Progress area shows a learner where they have and have not been within the programme. Take a look at the “Site map” option.
The Site map is clickable to allow learnersto move to any area theywant to within the programme.
