Metalworks • Project Summary • Al-Futtaim Carillion (UAE) • Metalworks budget for AED 8.3m set for new construction work in Dubai • Objectives: agree a price with pre-qualified supplier which is under budget • Critical Success Factors • All specifications & drawings were available to supply base • Through intensive training, suppliers were fully competent on eAuction day • Process & Suppliers • Full electronic RFP process (RFP & eAuction • 5 suppliers invited to RFP with 4 responses • 3 suppliers shortlisted to eAuction stage • eSourcing training given at each stage of process to ensure supplier compliance • Results • The eAuction negotiation delivered 17% savings • 40 bids were placed in total
