System failures - in Australia: • Generally mainstream services are unable to address trauma victims needs • People impacted by trauma present to multiple services over a long period of time • Care is often fragmented with inadequate coordination between services and poor referral pathways and follow-up protocols

The Trauma-Informed Care & Practice Framework • Change affecting every aspect of an organisation’s structure including: • Governance, management and leadership • Policies and structure • Consumer and carer/family participation • Direct service delivery and programs • Information and education • Outcomes and evaluation • A healthy and effective workforce

Supporting organisational change • Trauma-Informed Care & Practice Organisation Toolkit (TICPOT) : a quality improvement change resource • A product developed in response to the National Strategic Direction for a Quality Improvement organisational change resource targeted at the community managed sectors as well as public and private sectors

TICPOT Packages • TICPOT consists of two separate documents : • Document 1 Document 2 • - A user guide - Organisational change resources • - A QI organisational assessment tool - Support information, and templates • Assists organisations to begin their journey or build on existing trauma-informed policies and practices. • MHCC has developed two packages for sale: • • An offline DIY assessment tool, OR • • A comprehensive online assessment • Data from this assessment will inform a consultant’s report on outcomes and tailor recommendations to support quality improvement and organisational change.
