MRC 2015 TARC PDR Template Last Revision: 06/09/2014
Team Number (1, 2, 3) Sub team with members and team picture
Rocket Design Diagram Must include a diagram of your rocket with numbered and labeled parts.
Rocket Design Measurements State the measurements of both major and minor parts of the rocket, referring back to diagram labeling, while also providing the following information. Please use at minimum two decimal places throughout all measurements. (Note: A second slide may be used.) • Total weight of rocket (w/ and w/o motor) • Remember to note paint, glue, and other extras • Location of CoP and CoG • Value of CoD
Fin design and measurements Please provide a diagram of your fin structure and measurements. Please also include the following: • Number of Fins • Method of attachment to airframe • Supplemental joint attachments (Ex. JBWeld)
Materials List Provide a list of materials needed to construct this rocket. Please do not include construction materials such as sand paper or other misc. tools.
Recovery • Show a diagram of the recovery harness for each part of the rocket. • Identify linkages and recovery harness attachment methods • Identify eyebolts and attached materials • Other necessary items not mentioned above
Altimeters Provide a diagram of your altimeter mount and where it is located within the rocket. Provide a predicted mass for the altimeter mount (without altimeter). Diagram where holes are needed to allow air into the altimeter bay along with how many are needed.
Motor Selection • Identify primary motor selection and delay • Identify expected height with this motor assuming optimal weather conditions (include total mass and Weather cocking angle) • Identify secondary motor selection and delay • Identify expected height with this motor assuming optimal weather conditions (include total mass and Weather cocking angle)
Altitude Predictions Please predict the needed mass and weather cocking angle needed to reach the target altitude for both the primary and secondary motors at the following wind speeds at a temperature of 60o 2mph, 5mph, 8mph, 12mph, 15mph (A chart may be beneficiary for this slide)
Timeline Please provide a detailed timeline of operations beginning with planning and continuing until the TARC launch deadline. The chart must include a minimum of 10 deadlines; not including the PDR and CDR deadlines.
**Future Note** A Flight Procedure Checklist (FPC) will be required for the CDR. It would be beneficial to begin planning when you understand how your rocket will be readied for launch. Be prepared to explain any changes that may need to be made to your design in the CDR
