More than twenty years with Choices Bank of North Dakota Sponsors Explorer � Middle School Planner � High School testGEAR � High School ND Career Resource Network Trainers Reorganized (CTE) to provide more training and more specific instruction to users. North Dakota �Choices� Story We started with a product called CareerWare, then we went to Choices, then Bridges and now Xap/Bridges. Student loans, which is a division of the Bank of North Dakota provides Choices free of charge to all schools in North Dakota. Explorer for Middle School Planner for High School testGEAR for High School-If your school is a K-12 school, you will have access to all three products. In the past, there was one trainer for the whole state-Remember Dan Marrs? Now there are four trainers covering the NW, SW, SE and NE quadrants of the state. Jennie Granrud, NW, Donna Fricke, SW, Jody Breker, SE and I cover NE For the past four (4) years Student Loans of North Dakota (SLND), a division of the Bank of North Dakota, has provided Choices Explorer for all middle schools and Choices Planner and TestGEAR for all high schools, including private schools and home schooled students in the state. Xap products are geared toward college students and also has a product similar to TestGEAR. For the past two years. 4. If students don�t see what�s in it for them, they are less likely to be engaged. Remember, we are all enhancing and building skills all the time. If students can make the connection between learning and their �passion� in life, they are more likely to be engaged in what they are doing. 5. How do math, English, social studies and other classes help students in their careers? Many occupations require math skills. Almost every occupation requires communication, either verbally or written. Social skills are developed through interaction with other students, teachers and staff. Technical skills learned in vocational classes provide hard skills. Man, when I don�t have a plan for my time, I can waste more of that precious commodity than you can imagine and all of a sudden, the weekend is over and I have not accomplished anything and all those projects are still waiting! I have two grandson�s attending NDSU. The oldest one knows exactly what he wants to do and the younger one is struggling. He has no clear cut goal in mind, like Mike does. New Portal Page- This what the North Dakota portal page looks like and features Student Loans of North Dakota sponsorship ND portal page will be changing to add adult site selector for Choices CT Students, parent and educators can establish a portfolio, enabling them to return to their saved work, see what their child(ren) have been doing, or access resources on-line. School counselors are also able to monitor student progress. New enhancements create some changes in the appearance of the portal page. Some schools use a standardized username and password, such as first initial, last name and their birth date, student ID number, or the last four numbers of their phone number for their password. Usernames and passwords should use the KISS principle and be short and simple. If your students love science and math why not show them how they can do it for a living right in your classroom. If they don�t love science and math, show how learning them will provide them with the skills they will need in a variety of careers giving them more options. Help them adapt to change.
