SERVE Center at UNCG • University-based center administratively housed in the School of Education • Focused on Pre-K to Grade 12 education issues • Conducts needs assessments, research, development, and evaluation • Provides training, technical assistance, publications, and information dissemination

SERVE Center’s Mission • Building new knowledge through rigorous and relevant research • Promoting "best practices" and offering accessible and user-friendly resources and services • Transforming knowledge into action through quality professional development and hands-on technical assistance for educational professionals

Major SERVE Programs National Center for Homeless Education (NCHE) NC State Homeless Education Program NC Race to the Top (NC RttT) – NC Consortium for Educational Research and Evaluation Partner w/ Appalachia Comprehensive Regional Assistance Center (ARCC) to serve NC Regional Educational Laboratory-Southeast (REL-SE)

  6. What is a Regional Educational Laboratory (REL)? The Institute of Education Sciences (IES) supports ten Regional Education Laboratories (RELs) across the country, which are charged with supporting applied research and development, disseminating school improvement practices widely, and providing technical assistance to education agencies in their regions. http://ies.ed.gov/ncee/edlabs/
