This publication explores the characteristics and modeling of extreme wind speeds in the Arctic, particularly in the Barents Sea and Cara Sea, and their corresponding synoptic situations in modern climate and climate projections. The authors discuss observations, modeling using INMCM4, long-term changes in daily wind speed maximum, diurnal course of daily wind speed maximum frequency, and wind rose for daily wind speed maximum.
