What we play on special occasions Dholak is most popular instrument in India. We see every house is having Dholak and played on some happy festive occasions. Generally ladies gathered and sing songs like Bhajans (Music for God), Film Songs, Mehandi Songs (Wedding Songs), Dance Songs and etc. Only few ladies are perfect to play and match the tune with the song. Matching the tune with the song's mood and timing is necessary for any striking instrument. Even boys and man play Dholak their style of playing Dholak is different than ladies style. Ladies style Dholak has some simple beats. But boys in India and in Fiji have variety of Taals (tune) which is not seen in foreign country.
