Statistical Cart before the Ecological Horse! Statistical analysis alone will not give you insights into what data you should be collecting. How do you know what is useful? Basic vs. Applied Research.

Objective is usually to answer a question or test a hypothesis. Knowing statistics will not help you find an important question. Solution to a problem should have important ramifications to ecological theory or the management and conservation of our resources.
