2. Introduction Busiest junction station on Indian Railways.
Mainly suburban and long distance passenger traffic.

4. Over the years need was felt for more numbers of platforms, washing lines, stabling lines.
Existing RRI was also old (1982 vintage) and needed replacement.
Accordingly three works, Development of New Delhi station phase III, phase IV & phase V were got sanctioned.
For these works new RRI was envisaged.

Additional 6 washing lines.
8 new stabling lines.
4 nos. of new Passenger Platforms.
1 no. new shunting neck.
New Sick Line Complex.
Connectivity for the proposed 5th & 6th line between NDLS & TKJ alongwith Auto Signaling.
COST OF THE PROJECT – Rs. 73 Cr.
