  2. Character Poster Board Activity Visual componentIn your groups you will you will present your characters: With the poster board provided, illustrate what your character might look like. Keep in mind:What physiognomic traits has Chaucer included?What is your character dressed in?Make sure posters capture the essence of your characterMake sure to include your characters name (title) at the top of the poster board.

  3. Oral componentYour group will present your characters to the class. You are responsible for answering the following questions:What is your characters name?How does Chaucer describe your character?What are AT LEAST three important pieces of background information regarding your character?Why did you/why did you not include these on your poster illustration?Why is your character on the journey to Canterbury?What part of the social class is this character a member of?Given what you have read about your character, what kinds of stories do you think he/she will tell on the trip to Canterbury? Does Chaucer respect this character, satirize him/her or stay neutral?Remember, while your classmates are presenting their characters, you are responsible for filling out the Characterization Bubble Map!
