These are some time expressions used with the Present Perfect.

  4. Present Perfect Past Simple • She has been ill since Monday. She’s still in bed. • She was ill last week. Now, she’s back to work.

  5. Present Perfect and Past Simple • Marge and Homer met, fell in love and later got married. • Marge and Homer have had three children.

  6. We use the Present Perfect to talk about: -actions that started in the past and continue to the present: They have been here for an hour. -actions completed in the past that are still relevant: She has lived here since 2001. -actions completed at an unspecified time: She has already read the book. We use the Past Simple to talk about completed actions at a specific time: She read the book last summer.
