Indications • Similar with cupping. Increase the local blood circulation, so it good for pain caused by stagnations, heat, toxin, etc. • It is also good to release the Wei-Qi, so it can treat wind cold. • It can be applied to some small areas where we can not use cups. • For example: muscle pain, inner heat, detoxifying.
Manipulation • Gently and slowly put pressure on the body surface through the guasha tool. Repeat several times until the red dots appear(sha). Watch out for the Sha, not too rough. The order is : start from the middle line, then proceed outward. Start above, end below. Finish one area then another area.
Applications • Guasha on back to treat three jiao problems. • Guasha on other local area: neck, shoulder, clavicle bone, ribs, knee, leg, etc, to treat local problems.
Applications • Gua sha on upper back, neck and shoulder: Upper jiao problems. Such as head, neck , shoulder, arm pain. Wind cold damp, sinusitis, bronchitis, asthma, cough, fibromyalgia. • Gua sha on mid back: Middle jiao problems. Such as abdominal pain, back or rib pain, back pain,diarrhea,phlegm disorder. • Gua sha on lower back: Lower jiao problems. Such as low back ,hip, leg, knee, ankle and foot pain. menses disorder, Uterus, ovary or male reproduction system disorders.
Precautions • Put oil on the body before doing the scraping to reduce the pain. • Don’t put too much pressure to avoid damaging the skin and causing pain. • Avoid doing scraping on face. • Avoid doing it on pregnant patient and bleeding tendency patient or a patient who is very weak. • Do not apply on mole, sunburn, rash, or a break in the skin. • Do not apply to a just injured area where there is bruising or abrasion.

Indications • Inner Classic: it can puncture the skin so it is good for unblocking the channels and even the Qi and blood movement. • It is suitable to treat disorders of the nervous system and skin disease. • It is used for headache, dizziness, vertigo. Insomnia, gastrointestinal disease, gynecological disease, skin disease, painful joint and paralysis.
Manipulation • Clean the local area. • Tap vertically on the skin surface with a flexible movement of the wrist, not fingers or elbow. evenly and smoothly. • The tapping can be divided by three degrees. Light: tap until the local area turns red. Heavy: tap until it is a little bit bleeding. Even: in between light and heavy. • Tapping area: it can be a point, a local sensitive area or along the meridian or along the spine.
Application 1 • Headache or migraine: occipital area, neck, ashi area and any sensitive spot on the channel. • Chest pain : Back-Shu T1-12, esp UB17 &18 (liver and diaphragm) • Costal area pain: add SJ6 & Liver 3 (zhigou) • Insomnia: Back shu, esp UB15 &18 ( heart, liver ), heart channel and pericardium channel. Dream and palpitation: add GB20, SP6. • Excess sleep: sensitive spot on Du and Ren channel.
Application 2 • Arm injury: Thoracic area back shu, sensitive spot on Du channel and local ashi spot. • Leg injury: Lumber area of back shu, local ashi spot. • Lumber sprain: Lumber sacrum area and UB channel around there, and sensitive spot on the leg. • Bi pain: Corresponding back shu and local ashi spot. • Bells palsy: Face local points, UB2, GB1, ST4,6 and needle LI4
Application 3 • Wei syndrome: Arm: Back shuT1-7, three hand yang channels. Leg : Back-Shu on lumber and sacrum, three foot yang channels. If it is numbness, then change to yin channel. • Hiccup: Back-Shu T9-12 (UB18,19,20,21), Ren points on the chest, needle ST25 & SP15 (da hen) • Epigastric pain: UB18,20,21, Ren12, needle SP4, ST36, Vomiting: Add P6
Application 4 • Abdominal pain: back-shu T9-12, L1-5 , local abdomen. Upper abdomen pain: add Ren13,12. Lower abdomen pain: add Ren 4,6 • Cough, asthma: UB13, Ren17. Asthma: add Ren22 (tiantu), ST25. Cough: add LU5. Phlegm: add ST40 • Enuresis, noctal emission, impotence: Back shu on lumber sacrum area, lower abdomen. Child enuresis: add SP6. Adult enuresis: add Ren4,6, Kid12(dahe). Noctal emission: add Ren4. Impotence: add UB32(ciliao), Kid12, sleep problem: add SP6
Application 5 • Palpitation: UB15,18. add HT7, SP6, Kid3 • Dizziness: Head local area,UB18,23, add Taiyang, Yintang, GB channel on the head • Dysmenorrhea: Back shu on lower Lumber and sacrum area, lower abdomen on Ren and Kidney channel, emphasis on Ren 4,6, UB18, SP6 • Eye problem: local points around the eye, UB18,19,23, GB20, UB2, GB1, Taiyang • Nose problem: UB13, GB20, LI20, Bitong, add LI4,LU10 if there is a lot of discharge.
precaution • The tips of the needles should be even and free from any hook. check it before use with a cotton ball. • On tapping, the tips of the needles should strike the skin at a right angle to the surface to reduce pain. • Sterilize the needles and the local area especially before heavy tapping. Avoid infection after tapping. • Tapping is not allowed to apply to local open wound or ulcer.
