What Is In It For Me? • Medical and dental care for you and your family after the military.
Transitional Assistance Management Program (TAMP) The Transitional Assistance Management Program (TAMP) provides 180 days of premium-free transitional health care benefits after regular TRICARE benefits end.
TAMP Eligibility • Involuntarily separating from active duty under honorable conditions including: • Members who receive a voluntary separation incentive (VSI), or • Members who receive voluntary separation pay (VSP) and aren't entitled to retired or retainer pay upon separation. • A National Guard or Reserve member separating from a period of more than 30 consecutive days of active duty served for a preplanned mission or in support of a contingency operation.
TAMP Eligibility Cont. • Separating from active duty following involuntary retention (stop-loss) in support of a contingency operation • Separating from active duty following a voluntary agreement to stay on active duty for less than one year in support of a contingency operation • Receiving a sole survivorship discharge • Separating from regular active duty service and agree to become a member of the Selected Reserve of a Reserve Component. The Service member must become a Selected Reservist the day immediately following release from regular active duty service to qualify.
Dental Coverageunder TAMP • Dental care provided in military dental treatment facilities on space-available basis • VA provides one-time dental care within the 180 days of separation • Members will not receive dental care if military provided dental within 90 days prior to separation.

Community Based Warriors Transition Units • Allow recoveringservice members to live at home of record (HOR) and to access medical facilities near HOR while remaining on active duty • Physical evaluation board (PEB) has responsibility for determining fitness for duty or any service connected disability
Tricare Options for Retirees • TRICARE Prime • TRICARE Select • US Family Health Plan • TRICARE Young Adults • TRICARE for Life
Continued Health Care Benefits Program(CHCBP) • Transitional healthcare similar to TAMP, but is not a TRICARE option • Those separating voluntarily are eligible for 18-36 months of coverage • Veterans have 60 days after separation to enroll in CHCBP
