Steps in PAN to Update Accommodations After a Student Logs into a Test • Select the student on the Students in Sessions page > Select Tasks > Mark Student Tests Complete > Manage Student Test > Start
Marking a Student’s Test Complete • On the Mark Student Tests Complete tab, check the boxes for all sessions that are not yet complete > describe reason (e.g., incorrect accommodation given) > Mark Test Complete
Step in PAN to Void a Test due to a Wrong Accommodation • On the Manage Student Tests tab, check the box for Void Test, and select the reason.
What are the steps to take if an incorrect accommodated test form was given (or not given) after the student began testing? For text-to-speech, screen reader, ASL, and assistive technology, follow these steps: • The student needs to exit the test. • The test administrator or test coordinator marks the test complete.(Testing > Students in Sessions > Mark Student Tests Complete) • The test administrator or test coordinator voids the test (e.g. (Manage Students Tests screen > select the “Void Test Score Code” and the appropriate “Void Test Score Reason”from the dropdown”). • Assign the student a new test with the correct accommodated test form. • The test administrator can create a new PAN Session for the student or place the student in a different Session. • School personnel will contact the Department and may need to submit a testing irregularity report. Review the training module Resolving Incorrect Accommodations During Testing for a step-by-step demonstration online at http://mcas.pearsonsupport.com/training/
Updating Accommodations after Testing • Update accommodations in PAN for each content area test if a student refused or did not use an accommodation: • Setup > Students > Manage Student Tests • The following test form accommodations can only be updated during the formal discrepancy period: • Text-to-speech • Screen reader • Assistive technology • American Sign Language (ASL)

Not Tested Codes (Student Will Not Continue Testing) • Enter Not Tested Code • Medical Absence • Technical Failure
When should a test be marked as void? • If a student’s test should not be scored (see reasons below), the student will need to take a replacement test, and the initial test should be marked as void. • students who started the test with the wrong accommodation before being assigned a new test with the correct accommodations • students who did not complete testing due to a technical failure (and will take a replacement test) • other unspecified reason • Results from the initial test will not be reported.
What are steps to take to mark a “not tested” or “void” reason? • Go to Setup > Students, and check the box next to the student’s SASID. • Then, go to Select Tasks > Manage Student Tests > Start. • Check the Not Tested Code or Void Test Score box and select the reason from the appropriate dropdown menu; click Save.
