  1. Greenhouse Gas Testing Update NMMA EMD Meeting February 16, 2011 Jeff Wasil and Rich Kolb

  2. EPA Greenhouse Gas Reporting Requirements 2011- CO2 2012- CH4 2013- N2O * * N2O reporting for new engines begins in 2013 or when the manufacturer introduces NOX after treatment Slide 2

  3. Test Program Outline A variety of test plans were reviewed by the EMD board appointed subcommittee A test plan based on actual boat testing with time weighted bag sampling of emissions was created and subsequently reviewed with EPA Special equipment was designed and built to gather the bag samples An arrangement was made with Argonne National Labs to analyze bag samples -- test location was selected noting EPA’s concern on sample degradation Harold Haskew and Associates (HH&A) was retained to oversee the test program and to insure the chain of custody of the test samples. A pilot test was conducted August 26-27, 2010 to confirm the plan and prove the special equipment. Testing was completed the week of October 4, 2010 at Erickson’s Marina, Algonquin Illinois. Additional methane data on non-catalyst outboards was submitted to HH&A in January. The data analysis was completed February 8, 2010 Slide 3
