Dream Houses Te Tuhi Pre-visit lesson 3 House Drawings
In our last lesson we carefully looked at 5 buildings trying to find the hidden shapes of each building. We saw that some buildings were made just of triangles and others a mixture of rectangles, squares and pentagons. During this lesson we are going to use what we have learnt about shapes in buildings to help design and draw our own dream house.
Dream House Drawing: For this drawing activity we will draw our own dream house using only triangles.
Dream House Drawing: We will start by drawing one triangle and then adding another. We will have to think about how each triangle will join with another triangle as shown below.
Dream House Drawing: By adding more triangles our dream house starts to grow bigger.
Dream House Drawing: Once we have completed the outline of our dream house we can add colour to brighten up our house.
Dream House Drawing: To finish our house drawing we need to add people, trees, grass and sky.
Dream House Drawing Here are more house drawings using only triangles.
By designing our dream house from triangles we can see that houses can appear very different. Geometric shapes can help us see and think about the world in a very different and interesting way.
In the next lesson we will explore “Artist Gregor Kregar”. End of lesson.
