The Course Case Study in Computational Science and Engineering (CSE 794) • Introduction to methods in modeling and computational solution of scientific and engineering problems, emphasizing use of high-performance computers. • Disciplines involved Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science.
Course Objectives • Familiarity with the entire process of computational modeling and solution of a scientific/engineering problem; • Familiarity with alternative numerical approaches to solving differential equations and their trade-offs; • Familiarity with alternative computational methods for solving large sparse systems of equations on high-performance computers; and • Familiarity with software packages and libraries for high-performance scientific computing
