Component 1 - Strengthening Policies and Procedures for School Accreditation (US$6,700,000)
Purpose • developing a valid, transparent, credible and internationally competitive accreditation system for medical, dental, nursing, and midwifery education.
Sub-component 1.1– Development of Strategic Framework, Policies and Procedures for Accreditation • Sub-component 1.2 – Development of Standards of Health Education Programs and Standards of Competencies. • Sub-component 1.3 – Development of Accreditation Instruments
Sub-component 1.4 – Development of a Pool of Assessors. • Sub-component 1.5 – Establishment of an Accountability System for Accreditation of health higher education institutions • Sub-component 1.6 – Data Management to support the Accreditation System.
Sub-component 1.1– Development of Strategic Framework, Policies and Procedures for Accreditation A. Establishment of strategic alliance among stakeholders of health professions B. Development of Blue print for strategic framework and policies for accreditation of health professional education C. Development of Concept of Independent Accreditation Body (Nat'l Accreditation Agency for Health Professional)

Sub-component 1.2 – Development of Standards of Health Education Programs and Standards of Competencies. A. Capacity building of associatons of health professional education institution in organization development B. Establishment of National Center for Health Profession Education Reseach and Development C. Development of competence and education standards for nursing and midwifery education D. Establishment system for certification of clinical instructors and academic carrier
E. Development of Guidelines for clinical instructor training F. Establishment of system, institution and standards (includes instrument) for teaching hospitals and clinical training sites
Sub-component 1.3 – Development of Accreditation Instruments A. Finalization of instrument for accreditation of medical doctor professional education program B. Try Out / Piloting of instrument for accreditation of medical doctor professional education program C. Dissemination of instrument for accreditation of medical doctor professional education program

Sub-component 1.5 – Establishment of an Accountability System for Accreditation of health higher education institutions • A. Establishment of publication of accreditation directory on both website and hardcopy/softcopy format and accessible to stakeholders (by National Accreditation Board for health professional)
Sub-component 1.6 – Developing integrated central data bank for accreditation system, EPSBED, PDPT • A. Establishment of strategic alliance among LAM, Directorate of Academic, and other units of MONE responsible for academic and pertinent data for accreditation. • B. Capacity building of medical, dental, nursing and midwifery schools to conduct self evaluation for continues quality improvement
