  2. Objectives • Welcome to the Cayuse424 Complete Build Module. • In this module you will learn how to: • Attach documents to your grant proposal. • Attach the Research Plan to your grant proposal. • View the grant proposal and attachments in PDF format.

Basic Concepts • A complete grant proposal includes many attachments. • The checklist on the next slide lists all possible attachments and where they appear on the form set in the grant proposal. • Some or all of these attachments may be required. • Make sure all required attachments are added in the proper PDF format to your grant proposal.

  5. The Basic Process • The basic process for attaching documents is the same for all attachments: • Go to the appropriate page on the form set. • Scroll to locate where to add the attachment. • Click Add. • Follow system prompts to attach the file. • Verify attachment occurred.

  6. Attaching Documents • Attaching a Budget Justification to the Modular Budget is illustrated in this example. • Navigate to the Modular Budget page. • Scroll to the Budget Justifications section. • Click Add adjacent to the justification you are adding.

  7. Attaching Documents • The Upload Attachment window enables you to attach the PDF and the source (Word) files. • It is a good practice to upload both versions. Should the document require editing at a later time the source file is easily found by anyone working on the proposal. • Click Browse to locate the files you are attaching.

  8. Attaching Documents • Locate the PDF version of the file you wish to attach. • Click Open. • Repeat for source file.

  9. Attaching Documents • Once you’ve added both files, click Upload.

Attaching Documents • The files have been uploaded when you see pdf and src in blue. • If you need to edit a document once it has been attached: • Click src to open. • Edit the source file and save. • Create a new PDF file from the source. • Click Delete to remove the previously attached files. • Click Add to upload revised files.

  11. Attaching Documents • Use this basic process to attach documents when an attachment is required. • Always attach a PDF version. • It is good practice to also attach the Word source document.

Attaching the Research Plan • You can use the “Exploder” process for attaching your Research Plan (see the Exploder Training Tool under Training Tools on the Resources page). • A second method is to attach the Research Plan section by section, manually. • Both methods are illustrated on the remaining slides.

  13. Attaching the Research Plan – All at Once! • Navigate to the PHS 398 Research Plan of your proposal and find the Research Plan Attachments section.

  14. Attaching the Research Plan – All at Once! • Locate the 0. Composite PDF line. • Click Add.

  15. Attaching the Research Plan – All at Once! • Click Browse to locate and attach PDF and source files. • Click Upload.

  16. Attaching the Research Plan – All at Once! • Cayuse424 displays Results. • Click OK to return to the Research Plan.

  17. Attaching the Research Plan – All at Once! • The Research Plan has been “exploded” into the appropriate sections. • The blue pdf hyperlink indicates the add has occurred. • Click the pdf hyperlink to view the actual PDF if desired.

  18. Attaching the Research Plan – All at Once! • When you upload the Research Plan all at once, the exploder facility automatically attaches the Bibliography & References Cited onto the proper page of the form set -- Other Project Information, item 8.

Attaching the Research Plan – In Sections • You can upload individual sections of the Research Plan as long as they are in PDF format. • Select Add adjacent to the appropriate section. • Select the PDF and source Word documents using the Browse button. Then click Upload. • Note: pdf and src are now blue and the section name is displayed. • Repeat for all sections.

  20. Viewing Grant Proposals in PDF Format • You can generate a PDF to see how your proposal looks at any time. • Click icon at the top of the proposal

  21. Viewing Grant Proposals in PDF Format • Check all appropriate sections. You can select as many or as few sections as desired. • Click Generate PDF.

  22. Viewing Grant Proposals in PDF Format • Cayuse424 will generate a PDF of all selected sections. • Use the scroll bar to review the entire proposal. • You can save or print the generated PDF version of your grant proposal.
