Laboratory Service • In AP, OOPE due to poor access to diagnostics was over 52% in a house-hold based survey • Principle of National Diagnostics Program is to complement the existing pathology services with PPP and not substituting • Cost is sample based to avoid high prescription pattern for high value tests by averaging method • Cost in 8 months is Rs.17/- per capita and under Rs.70/- per test (for tests that are not done in public health facilities) • Cost estimates are about 40-42% of standard CGHS rates • Serves as “Basket Program” encompassing ‘hemoglobinopathies’, ‘NCD screening’etc. • Labs set to achieve ISO in six months and NABL in 2 years
Tele-Radiology Services • Image digitization, transmission, reporting – seamlessly provided for under PPP • Digitization modalities including use of CR Cassettes/Digitizer as appropriate for the X-ray machines available • Cost of X-ray – Rs.33.60/- per scan • Rs.0.21 per capita for tele-radiology • Cost is 15% of CGHS rate • Tele-radiology set to achieve ISO certification by six months • Every X-ray in AP is reported tele-radiologically by a qualified radiologist • http://core.ap.gov.in/CMDashBoard/Index.aspx
