A reciprocal action is one in which two or more people or things share an action. English uses the expressions (to) each other or (to) one another to express a reciprocal action. The subject of a reciprocal reflexive must always be plural. Ma copine et moi, nous nous téléphonons tous les week-ends. My friend and I call each other every weekend. Est-ce que vous vous connaissez? Do you guys know each other? Le chat et le chien se regardent. The cat and the dog are looking at each other.

As with all reflexive verbs, use être to make the passé composé. The past participle of a reciprocal verb does not agree with the subject when the subject is also the indirect object of the verb (a to/for relationship). Ils se sont embrassés. but Ils se sont parlé. They kissed each other. They spoke to each other.
