1. Kindergarten Corner! Weekly News from Mt. View Elementary Kindergarten Classrooms September 27, 2013 Math Notes: Language Arts Notes: This week in GoMath! we began Chapter 2. This chapter is short and focuses on comparing sets of objects to 5. We practiced matching sets that were the same, learning about greater than and less than and practicing ‘real world’ problem solving. This week we completed Storytown Lesson 3 with the introduction of letter Tt and word wall word ‘my’. We worked on hearing the syllables in a word, making predictions, and early writing skills. Extras: • We will be doing “Name Club” on Monday, Sept. 30th. Keep practicing with your child at home! • Also, we are spending A LOT of time at school tying shoes. Please continue to practice this at home with your child. We will be sending home books to practice soon! • As the seasons change, please be aware of the weather. We do try to go outside as much as possible, so make sure your child has the necessary coats and eventually hats/gloves. • The school dress code prohibits the children from wearing flip-flops to school. Please make sure your child has on shoes that have a heel strap. Teacher Reminders!
