  8. Book selecting:This is the place that records the previously studied courses of the user. He or she can resume his/her study here.

  9. Book editing:This is the place that user could find an already existing book structure and by deleting or selecting some nods he/she may modify it in line with his/her own preference.

  10. Select a course you want to tailor, choose those nods you interested and press the button “Tailor” (剪裁)to perform or “Cancel”(放弃) to give up. 11

  11. After the clicking of the “Tailor”(剪裁)button, there will be a summary of all the selected nodes, user may also make some adaptation here.

  12. This is the result of book editing. To begin study press “view the book”(察看详细内容). 13

  13. This the actual study stuff user could get. The left shows the book structure, while the right is the content of selected node.

  14. Book customizing: Here, the user can knit up a new book structure by assigning attributes to each individual learning object (LO).

  15. First, the user should select a subject he/she want to study. Here for instance the “Internet”. 19

  16. Then, the particular subject may be broken down to many points. The user should chose some he/she interested in. 18 OK: 17

  17. And press the “OK”(确定)button to assign attributes to each of them.

  18. The user could also preset the display pattern for each node which may include: • Pure text(文本) • Graphic(图形) • And multimedia(多媒体).

  19. And then click the button “Do Customizing”(选择定制). 20

  20. Here, the user could review all the nodes he/she has set. To go further, press the button “Edit”(编辑). Edit

  21. Now, the user has finished all the steps of book customizing. He/she may do it all again or just click “View the book”(察看详细内容)to begin study. 22

  22. This is the final study content after customizing.

  23. Book enquiry: Here, the user could search a book by book name, author, press house and ISBN number. 24

  26. The right column are the test subjects, the left are various exams of a chosen subject. 27

  27. Here, for instance, if the user choose to take GRE test which belongs to English category. 28

  28. When user finishes the test and presses the “Finish”(提交) button, his/her answers will be sent to the examination centre, and all the multichoice will be corrected automatically by the system, others will be done manually.

  30. The left column presents three information categories, namely system introduction, news, technique news and educational resources. While the right consists the actual information content. 31

  31. Here choose the news item No. 2, the content will appear in an new window.

  32. This is the main page of Learning environment subsystem.(originate from KwaFu developed by TsingHua University) 33

  34. Click the “Information Board”(公告牌)to view the system announcement.

  35. Users could also participate the discussing area by pressing “Discussing Area”(讨论区). 36

  36. Choose a certain subject and click it. 37

  37. Users can view the actual content of a message by clicking it. 38

  38. Users could also publish a new message by clicking “Publishing Message”(发表文章). 39

  39. Messages can be searched by author or subject. Chat: 40

  40. There is a chatting room for users in study environment.

  41. The window below shows a user’s using chatting function.

  42. The Instant Messaging function provides user a mean to sent instant information directly to another online user.

  43. The environment also provides internal mail function for all users. 44

  44. Click “ Receive” (接收新邮件)to receive new letters.

  47. Personal Information Management function provides the user a place to update his/her personal data at any time.

  48. User could add, delete or edit a study plan with the function of study schedule management. 49

  49. A detailed study plan with subject name, starting date, ending date and explanatory note as shown below.

  50. This is the place that records the examination archive with date, score and state.
