Who/What/Where/When • Crazy Person 1 – Kenny, KK7GU • Crazy Person 2 – Mark, KB7PJM • Bands: 6M,2M,220&440 • Yaesu 817 (Scanner) and Yaesu 100d • Alinco 220 FM (never made it on the air) • Newcastle Golf Club • CN87 • 47° 32’ 04N, 122° 08’ 33W • Elevation 2077 Feet • January 19th and 20th, 2002

  3. Week Before • Buy Antennas, coax, misc power things, antenna masts, rotators, etc. • Reserve generator • Prep Mobile Comm Vehicle (MCV) • Obtain permission for site • Assemble all this stuff…. • Friday night at 10pm, KK7GU starts coax assembly. Learns it takes 17 min to put on PL-259 (total of 10 to-do that night)

  4. Saturday Morning 6:00am – Mark wakes up 7:00am – Kenny wakes up, ~30 min late 7:30am – Mark calls, MCV won’t start 7:50am – Mark calls, fuel pump dead 7:55am – Kenny starts loading escape pod 8:30am - Kenny calls Mark for status report 8:45am – Kenny picks up generator 9:00am – Mark calls, got new fuel pump

  5. 9:30am – Onsite

  6. 10:30am – Minor Assemble

  7. 11am – Contest Starts

  8. 12:30pm – MCV arrives

  9. 12:45pm – Happy Mark

  10. 1:00pm – Not On the Air Yet, But Finally Stopped Raining!

  11. 1:05pm – Assemble Discone

  12. 1:15pm – Time to Raise the Mast!

  13. 1:45pm – Small Problem

  14. 3:00pm – Attempt #2

  15. 3:05pm – New and Improve Approach

  16. 3:05pm – Advance Guying System

  17. 5:00pm – Success!

  18. 5:05pm – Pure Beauty

  19. 5:30pm – Quick Put Up Discone!

  20. 5:35pm – First Radio on the Air!

  21. 5:45pm – Lets Get Busy!

  22. 5:47pm – How Does This Work Again?

  23. 6:00pm – Hey, I’m Getting Hungry

  24. 6:45pm – Small Wind Problem

  25. 11:15pm – Hey, We’re Tired!

  26. 1:00am – Time to Crash…

  28. 9:15am – His Truck Sure Looks Funny..

  29. 9:20am – And You Thought We Were Serious About This….

  30. 10am – Wow, We Did It!

  31. 10:30am – Mark Finally Gets to Play

  33. 10:37am – MCV & Escape Pod
