Cooperation (Fitch) ‘AMR, the County Contractor, has also matured in its role. Relationships with the area fire departments have improved markedly since the 2004 review.’ ‘While there is a natural tension between first responders and the ambulance provider, interviews with the various entities indicate respect for each participant’s contributions to the EMS system and to patients.’
Cooperation (Fitch) (Continued) ‘The majority of the first response agencies made positive comments about their organization’s relationship with AMR. Individuals cited several specific examples of how AMR works with them on programs, supports them when needed and responds to their requests. Specific AMR employees were cited as being supportive. AMR managers also reported good working relationships with the majority of many fire departments.’
Cooperation (Fitch) (Continued) ‘Overall AMR has built good relationships with the Santa Clara County fire departments and vice versa. They have demonstrated a willingness to partner and work with departments to create innovative solutions to existing problems.’
Comments “AMR, we have always had a top notch relationship from day one, we work together really well. AMR has been 100 percent responsive and has been an advocate for me.”
Effectiveness (Fitch) ‘Santa Clara residents and visitors receive a high level of service from the system.’ ‘Fire departments and the ambulance provider are consistently in compliance with the Master Contract requirements for EMS services.’
