  4. IJQA Center • Features • The MX850 is a premium all-in-one printer for SOHO users. • It is a FAX-equipped MFP which supports automatic duplex printing, • scanning, and copying, using high speed ADF and wired LAN. • Position: Successor model of MP830 • Base: MP610 engine • High quality 5-color photo print (max. resolution 9600x2400 dpi) realized by the FINE print head technology which adopts 1pl of ultra fine droplet. • Automatic duplex scanning and copying using high speed ADF in which up to 35 sheets of paper can be loaded. • Automatic duplex printing with 2-way paper feeding, DVD/CD label printing, multi-paper handling. • The advanced image processing technology enables optimized copy of both documents and photos. • High-speed (approx.21 sec.) 4”x6” borderless photo printing • “Auto Image Fix” produces optimized printouts of both portraits and sceneries. • Adopting wired LAN allows to share printing and scanning jobs with multiple PCs.

IJQA Center Wired LAN • New function IPv6, WSD <Hardware> Windows Vista <Functional overview> - When WSD is active, a WSD icon is displayed on the network screen of the PC. - WSD driver: one-way communication (the printer status cannot be seen on the PC) - When IPｖ6 is selected, the MX850 is usable only with the WSD. - When IPv6 is selected on the operation panel(MX850 or MX7600), and when using a router, a router which supports IPv6 is necessary with the MX850. (A HUB can be used with the MX850 even if it does not support IPv6.)

IJQA Center High-speed ADF -High-speed scanning is achieved through improvement in the ADF speed and continuous paper feeding control. - Storage to the memory, decoding, and printing can be processed in parallel.   8. IJQA Center PTT Parameter Mode(FAX Service Mode) <MP830> In the user mode, press and hold the Stop/Reset button for 2 seconds. The Alarm LED (orange) starts blinking. a)To enter the FAX service switch mode,wait until the Alarm LED blinks 12 times,then release the Stop/Reset button. b) To print the System Data List, wait until the Alarm LED blinks 13 times, then release the Stop/Reset button. <MX850/7600> In the user mode, press the SCAN button, then a） Press #9769# to enter the PTT parameter mode. b） Press #9768# to print the PTT parameter setting value. MX700/300/310: already adopted

IJQA Center FAX (Changes from the MP830) MX700/300/310: already adopted Receive mode setting: 4 modes  3 modes Default: FAX only mode  FAX priority mode (*1) When the answering machine responds: Voice call  The answering machine responds to the call. Fax  The machine receives the fax automatically.

IJQA Center FAX (Changes from the MP830) - Auto print received -> Same function as the one for the MX700/300/310 The function to choose whether to print the received faxes automatically is added. ON: The machine automatically prints received faxes. OFF: Received faxes are stored in memory all the time. When Auto print received is ON, then you can choose whether to continue printing received faxes in ink out condition. ON: Printing received faxes is continued even when the remaining ink is out. OFF: Received faxes are stored in memory when the remaining ink is out. <Changes from the MX700/300/310> At Auto print received:ON & Print when out of ink: OFF, after releasing the ink empty error (holding down the Stop/Reset button for 5 sec.),

IJQA Center FAX (Changes from the MP830) - Increased memory capacity for alternate receipt: 10  30 cases In the memory , the number of fax cases is controlled as well as the number of fax pages. The number of receptions which can be stored in the memory has been increased. No change in the number of fax pages stored in the memory. (250 pages.) (MX300/310/700: 20 cases)

IJQA Center FAX (Changes from the MP830) MX700/300 310: Not yet adopted - When manually sending a fax (manual sending: the contents of a fax will not be saved in the memory) and the machine is waiting for being redialed, redialing starts automatically even though the document cover is opened and causes ##232 error. This problem has been solved.  Automatic redialing is not done while the document cover is opened. - If sending a reserved fax is completed while its content is being printed, the screen showing that the content is being printed continues to be displayed but the operation keys become inactive (only the ON/OFF button is active). This problem has been solved.  A fax is not deleted even if its sending is completed before printed out. - If the memory becomes full during multi-address transmission from the ADF, the document feeding through the ADF is stopped on the way. This problem has been solved.  Even if the memory becomes full on the way documents are being fed, the machine does not stop feeding until all the document in the ADF is ejected.

  14. IJQA Center Notes on servicing 1. Removal of exterior portions The ADF, scanner, and main case can be removed at the same time. A small screwdriver is necessary.

  15. IJQA Center Notes on servicing 2. Removal of the panel board Since the operation buttons are not fixed in the panel frame, they would fall off the frame when the frame is turned over without the panel board (the frame without the panel board is shown below).

The operation confirmation without the Scanner / ADF function Detail: A special mode in which you can confirm the operation of the printer engine without the Scanner/ADF function. Way to enter the special mode: 1) Press and hold the ON/OFF button, then connect the AC adapter. 2) Press the Stop/Reset button 8 times while holding down the ON/OFF button. 3) Release the ON/OFF. Purpose: 1. To confirm the operation of the printer engine （you can confirm it even in the Scanner/ADF error condition.） 2. To locate where the error lies, printer engine or Scanner / ADF. Complement: - Same condition as the user mode. - The service mode function cannot be performed. - Printing using a PC is possible. - Copying/ Scanning cannot be performed.

IJQA Center FAQ <Problem> Scanner unit cannot be opened (before the first use of the printer). <Cause> The scanner lock release button cannot be pressed without removing the protective sheet attached between the ADF and the scanner unit. <Solution> Advise users to remove the protective sheet and orange tape together.   19. IJQA Center FAQ <Problem> The power code cannot be found in the printer box. <Cause> The power code is packed in the box that contains the print head and ink tanks. (The modular cable is not in the box.) <Solution> Have users check inside the box without fail before reporting it as an accessory missing case. Modular cable Power code (in the box)
