  1. Joint 2013 G-LiHT & HyPlant Airborne Campaign in the USAA Collaboration between NASA, ESA, and the FLuorescenceEXplorer (FLEX) Mission Elizabeth Middleton, Campaign Coordinator, GSFC/618 Bruce Cook, G-LiHT PI, GSFC/618 UweRascher, HyPlant PI, Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany Fluorescence is a remotely sensed signal from active chlorophyll Goal:Provide the data needed to plan a sun-induced fluorescence mission in space, and demonstrate the additional benefit of vegetation structure on retrievals. Objectives: • Successfully co-manifest G-LiHT and HyPlant on the NASA UC-12B KingAir aircraft with 2 nadir ports. • Acquire diurnal airborne and ground data at a Loblolly Pine plantation and Duke Forest, NC. • Make data openly available to science community. Schedule: • HyPlant ships from Germany (late-July) • Finalize Memorandum of Understanding (August) • I&T on King Air (late-Aug through early-Sept) • Science Flights (late-Sept through early-Oct) • Instruments removed and shipped (October) References: Cook et al., 2013, Remote Sensing 5, 4045-4066 Rascheret al., 2009, Biogeoscience 6:1181-1198 GODDARD SPACE FLIGHT CENTETR LANGLEY RESEARCH CENTER
