WELCOME! • Unit 4 Unit 4 - Lesson 16 Monitor Position

SCREEN TEXT • Screen text should be easy to read. • To help relieve eyestrain, adjust text features, such as character size, spacing and color. • In Windows use Desktop Properties>Display Properties to change the window display. • Use monitor controls to adjust visual settings so that the contrast and brightness levels are comfortable. • High contrast with low brightness is usually preferred. AVOID EYE STRAIN • It is easy when working to unconsciously stare at the screen. • Look away from the screen at a distant object to refocus your eyes. • Blink your eyes periodically to lubricate them. • Take a break every hour. Unit 4 - Lesson 16 Monitor Position
AVOID EYE STRAIN (cont’d) • If you wear glasses, ask your optometrist about anti-reflective lenses to reduce glare. • Anti-reflective shields are available for the monitor screen. • Slightly tilt the monitor downwards. Your eyes will then be looking downwards at the screen. • Be sure the monitor is not too close to you. Unit 4 - Lesson 16 Monitor Position
