Group Activity: What is a MoBo? 1B • In groups you will be given a MoBo. You will need to identify its main goal and 2 secondary goals. • 3 minutes Failure to complete the task in the given time will generate an automatic extra homework 1. • T1: Rodrigo, Julio • T2: Vicente, Sofía, Adi • T3: Jimena, Fernanda, Aurora • T4: Amber, Fernando, Diego

MotherBoard (MoBo) • Printedcircuitboard • Everythingisconnectedtoitthroughbuses. • Determines kind, type, brand and speed of C.P.U.
MoBo • MoBos have different ports, for example the USB ports. • In groups you will be given a MoBo and you will need to name at least 4 ports. You need to know what they are used for. • 6 minutes: Failure to complete the task in time will end up in an extra homework 2.
MoBo • Do you think other kind of computers like Tablets or smartphones have MoBos? • What things may be different in a MoBo for tablets?
RAM • Random Access Memory. • Temporary things • All programs you are running. • The more windows, programs and files you open the more RAM you need. • Used only by the computer, users can’t access them. • Different from the Hard Disk Drive where you store all your images.
RAM Specs • Can be upgraded. • Size • Megabytes (MB) • Gigabytes (GB) • Normally 4 GB
Prepare to answer • Identify the main component of a MoBo • Mention 4 ports of a MoBo • Describe what is the use of the RAM
