  2. The Development Cycle Identify the critical few:those with the greatest capacity to give Stewardship Share your Boys & Girls Club story Donor Recognition: Saying “thank you” Learn more about the donor Cultivate and Engage Solicitation: Ask for a specific amount based on mission

  3. Concept: Focus for 12 days

  4. Menu of opportunities • Cultivation • CPO & board volunteer can personally visit with a new prospect identified for a solicitation for next year’s IJTO campaign • Invite new prospect identified for next year’s IJTO campaign solicitation to take a tour of the clubhouse • Board volunteer(s) host a House Party of Hope with invitations going to new prospects who are identified for next year’s IJTO campaign solicitation • Stewardship • CPO & board volunteer can personally visit one of the current year’s IJTO campaign’s “Top 10” donors • Organize a “thank-a-thon” focused on communicating ROI messages to current year’s IJTO campaign donors via phone • Invite current year’s IJTO campaign volunteers to participate in the Club’s year-end holiday party (e.g. decorate, games, hand out presents, etc)

  7. On the second day … Personal cultivation visit

  8. On the third day … Stewardship material is mailed

  9. On the fourth day … Personal stewardship visit

  10. On the fifth day … It is a House Party ! ! !

  12. On the seventh day … Personal stewardship visit

  13. On the eighth day … It is a House Party ! ! !

  14. On the ninth day … Personal cultivation visit

  15. On the tenth day … Personal stewardship visit

  16. On the eleventh day … Let’s take a clubhouse tour with a Youth of the Year reception

  17. On the twelfth day … Holiday Party with the kids

  18. Tips on getting started • Don’t procrastinate • identify volunteers today • identify donors today • identify new prospects today • Plan the parties, events & receptions today • Put a calendar together
