To Back up Your History • Before you uninstall, it’s a good idea to back up your chat history and personal files so you can restore them later.
Follow Steps For Back UP History • Press the Windows and R keys on your keyboard at the same time. • Type %appdata%\skype in the Run dialog and click OK. • Copy the My Skype Received Files folder and the folder with your Skype Name (if you’re signing in with a Microsoft account, the folder may start with live#3) to another location, such as your desktop.
Uninstall and Reinstall Skype • First, try a simple uninstalland reinstall of Skype to see if that fixes the problems you’re having. If that doesn't solve the issue, you can completely uninstalland reinstall Skype.
Simple Uninstall • Quit Skype. Type appwiz.cpl in the Run dialog and click OK. • Find Skype in the list, right-click it and select Remove or Uninstall. • Download and install the latest version of Skype.
