Jason-2 Overview • Project Highlights • JUN 08: Jason-2/OSTM satellite launched • OCT 08: Jason-2 Ground System handed over to NOAA from CNES • DEC 08: Distribution to Users began • MAR 09: SPSRB declared OGDRs ready to go operational (contingent on completing security remediations on the ESPC Jason-2 machines) • Product Status • ESPC Contractor support is 24x7 • Software upgrades and fixes are regularly deployed • OGDR production routinely meets timeliness metric • OGDR product quality meets specs • GDRs being blessed/archived • Product Enhancements • The joint NASA/CNES Ocean Surface Topography Science Team (OSTST) supports basic research, calibration, validation, and analysis activities associated with Jason-2 Ocean Surface Topography Mission • Principle Investigators funded to calibrate and validate Jason-2 • First OSTST meeting was November 10-12, 2008 in Nice, France • Next OSTST meeting scheduled for June 2009 in Seattle, WA • Future Products • CNES-provided science processing software will be upgraded November 2009 (TM-NRT v3.0) • We may put SSHA into the buffer (BUFR) product (not currently scheduled).
