  4. Accommodation • Hotel La Pergola • Small family run • On the outskirts of Sorrento • 20 girls in 6 triples + 1 twin • 24 boys in triples

Day One Wednesday 19thOctober 2011Travel Day • Coach leaves BRGS at 02:30hrs • Passports EHIC and €15 on the coach • Check in at 04:10 • Flight Easyjet7215 departs Liverpool Airport at 06:10hrs • Arrives Naples Capodichino Airport at 10:10hrs (Italian time) • Visit Solfatara and then Monte Nuovo

Day Two Thursday 20th Capri Day • Early breakfast at the hotel • Hydrofoil Ferry to Isle of Capri • Laser boat trip around the island • Minibus travel to Capri Town, Anacapri and Monte Solaro • Chairlift to the summit • Return to Sorrento for evening meal at hotel • Tenpin Bowling in Sorrento

  12. Day Three Friday 21st Vesuvius Day • Breakfast at the hotel • Guided tour to the rim of Vesuvius • Followed by a visit to Pompeii • Evening meal at the hotel • Tarantella show – music, dance and comedy

  15. The area around Vesuvius was officially declared a National Park in June 1995. The summit of Vesuvius is open to visitors and there is a small network of paths around the mountain that are maintained by the park authorities.

  17. Day Four Saturday 22ndAmalfi Coast • Breakfast at the hotel • Amalfi Coast Drive • Followed by a visit to the Paestrum Ruins • Evening meal at the hotel • Free evening in Sorrento

  21. Day Five Sunday 23rd Homeward Bound • Very Early breakfast at the hotel • Coach departs for the airport at 06:45 • Check in 08:45 • Flight departs 10:45 (Italian Time) • Arrive in Liverpool 12:55 (UK Time) • Arrive BRGS 14:30

  22. Our recommendations • Passport! • European Health Insurance Card • €15 damage deposit • Lunches will need to be purchased (and drinks) • Suggest £50? Minimum - students responsible for themselves! • Alarm clock • I-pod and camera (not expensive and do please look after) • Luggage 20kg – labels • Liquids in hand luggage not more than 100ml in transparent bag • Sun tan lotion/ aftersun? • Waterproof jacket • Sensible/sturdy footwear • Expectation to ‘cover-up’ • Towel and swimwear? • Dictionary/ phrasebook • Medication and a spare for staff • European adapter • Share hairdryers/ straighteners • Day rucksack?

Our expectations… • No alcohol • No smoking • An outdoor classroom environment • Pupils should not go around in groups of less than 3 • Pupils must not visit the rooms of the opposite sex! • Pupils must stay in their rooms when settled by staff for the night • Pupils should be courteous to all members of staff and to each other • Pupils should be considerate to the needs of other guests and respectful of Italian culture • Teachers have a duty to act in ‘loco parentis’ and to safeguard health and safety (groan)
