Purpose of this session • Why: • To improve your confidence at giving presentations • To improve how you sound and look during presentations • To learn how to structure what you say • To give and receive feedback within a small group • Who: Anyone who wishes to conquer their fear of public speaking and to improve their presentation skills

Developing confidence and credibility • Take small steps • Practice beforehand • Get to know your audience • Maintain eye contact during presentation
Developing confidence and credibility • Avoid alcohol, caffeine, dairy products, heavy meals, smelly food, fizzy drinks • Have a light meal, water at room temp, herbal tea • Release tension by rolling shoulders; tightening then relaxing muscles • Shake off before going on stage to use up excess energy • Deep abdominal breathing; exhale slowly
