Elica History • Decision to develop Elica – 2001 at the Bulgarian-USA forum on Math and CS Education • Grant Award for developing the first version of Elica. Grant provided by “Best Practices in Education” • The Elica project absorbs other smaller projects developed in the faculty, e.g. Geomland
Characteristics • Development environment with a high-level programming language • Libraries for 3D graphics and animation in real time • Set of applications which can be used in Math and CS education • A tool for visualization and experimental model, processes and phenomena • Environment for educators and students to create their own educational software

Future Plans • Creation of multiplatform version of Elica which will work on Windows, LinuxandMacOS • Design and implementation of additional educational Elica-based software • Preparing teaching materials for using Elica in secondary and university levels • Drawing financial support in order to support the Elica team in creating new software and conduct research of modern technologies and their implementation in education
