  2. Hercules was the son of the god Zeus and mortal women, Hera. Hera was jealous of Hercules. Hera made Hercules lose his mind, in this confused and angry state, he killed his wife and children. Hercules prayed to the god Apollo for guidance. Hercules had to serve Eurystheus, the king of Tiryns and Mycenae for 12 years. He had to complete 12 labors, feats so difficult they seemed impossible. After completing this labors, Hercules was Greece’s greatest hero.
