Tornadoes are caused when warm southern winds try to rise and cold northern air sinks. Another way to say it is when cold air sinks and warm air rises they start chasing each other in funnel-like shape.

Tornadoes can take place anywhere, but the majority occur in the middle of the United States. Cold and warm winds meet each other, coming from the mountains, deserts, and Caribbean Sea. "Tornado Alley" is the area in which most tornadoes hit, which include the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, and Illinois! The spring season is a very popular time for tornadoes to happen!
