  4. Objective • Evaluate student writing using Peer Edit Rubrics, corrections chart and graphic organizer for feedback.

  5. Peer Editing! • You will staple your colored Rubric to the student you are Peer Editing. • First, SILENTLY read through the essay and look for statements made by your partner you liked and improvements you feel they need to make. Write these in the graphic organizer. • If there is something you do not completely understand, ask a question using the sentence starter: In paragraph # ____, it says….. A question I have for you is…

  6. Peer Editing! • Next, use the chart you see in English to make necessary spelling and grammatical corrections. • If you finish early, re-read your essay and the corrections made by your Peer Editor.

  7. Objective • Evaluate student writing using Peer Edit Rubrics, corrections chart and graphic organizer for feedback. • Examine the Holocaust by navigating through Prezi with my Elbow Partner to understand ghettoization, deportation and extermination while analyzing Nazi Germany’s transformation into the Final Solution and the Holocaust that resulted in the murder of 6 million Jews. • Apply inquiry in Home Group conversations to better understand the Holocaust.

  8. The Holocaust is a process, it’s organized; it’s systematic.

  9. Task: • Today you will navigate through Prezi with your Elbow Partner and fill out your Holocaust packet. • Refer to the App Legend if you get lost. • When you are 100% finished, create higher-level questions for Home Group Discussions next class using the check list provided. • Check your answers with the Answer Key.

  10. Norms: • Take turns navigating through your Prezi with your Elbow Partner. • Each student must write their answers on their packet. • Quietly whisper as some students may be at different parts of the Prezi as you. • Other than the Prezi and History Channel websites, you may not go onto any other site.

  11. Make your Prezi Fullscreen!

  12. Q & A • On the index card, write the names of your Home Group Members. • Create two categories, one for Question Tallies and one for Answer Tallies. • Student D will tally on the index card and participate.

  13. Home Group Conversations • Student A will ask their higher-level question. Group Members will look through their Prezi packets and come up with more than a one word answer in response to the question. • In order to get a Question Tally, your question must be understood by the group and you must receive more than 1 answer from your group. • In order to get an Answer Tally, you must either refer to the packet or provide a relevant, lengthy, insightful answer. • Once this process has occurred, Student B will continue the conversation.

  14. Norms: • No Side Conversations with other groups. • Stay on task • No fighting over tallies, raise your hand and ask me if about tally disagreements.

  15. In complete sentences…. • Write 3 things you learned in detail. • Write 2 things you feel after learning this information. • Write 1 thing you are having trouble understanding or 1 question you would like to ask.
