Our Journey • Principal went to 90/90/90 Summit in May 2010 • DRT completed a book study: • Accountability in Action by Doug Reeves Summer 2010 • Lead and Learn Training September 2010 • DRT began to train staff in the data team process in October 2010 • Building wide writing assessment (3 times a year)
Challenges • Teachers found it difficult to… • Embed writing in all content areas • Make connections with non-fiction and their content areas • Teach writing without a specific district-wide writing program • Come to consensus on which standard to focus on
