  1. London Tourist Guide Free Things to Do in London London is my favourite city in the world. I first went there after graduating high school and for the last twenty years I try and see at least every year or two. Unfortunately, the exchange rate between the US dollar and the British pound has left visiting now quite somewhat more expensive than it was, but there are still plenty of free things to do in London. Following is a list of a few of my own favorites. Most of the large museums in London are free to see. So on every one of my trips to London, I usually visit a couple and spend a couple of hours wandering the galleries and displays. A few of my favorites are the National Portrait Gallery just on the edge of Trafalgar Square; the Victoria & Albert (V&A) at South Kensington; and the Tate Modern on Bank side near the London Bridge. There are so many trendy shops in London that I like to stay away from the chain stores. It is more fun to putter around shops that are not like those back home. Meeting Santa in his Grotto is one of the most exciting things to do in London for Christmas. Winter Wonderland, Father Christmas in the Greenwich Grotto, The Harrods Christmas Grotto, and Santa's Grotto at National Trust: Modern Hall Park and many more intriguing grottos are available in London for Christmas 2013. The Santa's Grotto in the Rainforest cafe begins on 23rd November and goes on till 24th December. It's among the particular grottos and parents can fill a questionnaire about their little ones to surprise their children this Christmas. The Harrods Christmas Grotto is the ideal place for a family trip and you may also enjoy shopping in a festive setting. The Christmas Chocolate Festival at London sets the mood for a perfect party with an array of artisan delights. Celebrations always start with a snack of chocolate and of course the chocolate festival is among the special events for Christmas, 2013.
