Animals Found In The Savanna • Some animals you may find include wildebeest that are very hairy , zebras who have black and white stripes that confuse predators , buffalos help people with farming , and giraffes that have long necks used for eat the tops of trees.
Vegetation • In the Savanna there are acacia which has deep roots that’s good for the arid climate. • Baobab is a fire and drought resistant tree which is 50 feet wide and 85 feet high. • Red oat grass which is a tough grass that grows 3 feet high. • Rabbit tail fountain grass is tufted and grows 3 feet tall.
Their Countries • Kenya and Tanzania are two of the countries located in The Savanna.
Tribes with Customs • The Savanna has three tribes the Dorobo, the Kikuyu, and the Maasai. • Some customs are that the Dorobo has many ceremonies to celebrate events in one’s life. The Kikuyu loves to sing and always have a song for a special occasion. The young Maasai boys have their second teeth carved out with a knife.
What Do They Eat? • The people in the Savanna make a side dish called irio. It is prepared with dry green beans , corn , potatoes , spinach , butter , salt , and pepper.
Topography of The Savanna • The Savanna is an undulating plain with an area of 11,583 square miles.
Climate • The climate of the Savanna is semi arid and moderate.
