Cold Case # 1325The Homicide of King Tut The Branagan-KeuscherDetective Agency™
Cause of Death? • Was King Tut murdered or did he die from an illness? • This age old question has continued to puzzle historians, Egyptologists, and scientists for many years. • There are many different theories as to how he died and all of them continue to be controversial topics. Some will argue King Tut was likely murdered due to greed and power, while others believe he fell from his chariot or died from an illness. • So many theories surround his death that it’s impossible to rule out an exact cause of King Tut’s death.
Your Task • Your task: You and your CSI/ forensic Team must come to a final conclusion as to how King Tutankhamun really died. • Your team will research through various types of sources, infer, hypothesize, and theorize the boy pharaoh’s true demise. • After your data is collected and synthesized, you and your team will create a presentation (Prezi, Power-point, Movie Maker) in which you will try to convince your Chief Detectives (Ms. Branagan and Mr. Keuscher) of your findings.
Groups • Your groups will be decided by the Chief Detectives (Mr. Keuscher and Ms. Branagan). • Make sure to meet with your group and decide who will be taking on each role. • Each person will have to contribute to the project in order to earn the best possible grade. • You will be given time to work on this project in class, but you might have to do some work at home as well.
Roles of Your Team • Medical data collector: Will analyze information pertaining to King Tut’s cause of death. • Artifact data collector: Will examine artifacts pertaining to King Tut’s death and life. • Victim profiler/biographer: Will research King Tut’s life and write a report about it. • Team illustrator/graphic designer: Will create an illustration that portrays a part of King Tut’s life. • Editor (in charge of citing): Will collect all citations and make sure that they are cited properly. • Collaborator: Will collect all the research and work together to present to the Chief Detectives.
Grading • You and your team will be graded using the rubric that is at the back of your Project Packet. • Graded on a scale between 1 and 5. • You will be graded individually and as a group. • Your group will be expected to present your findings to the Chief Detectives and your peers. • This project will count as TWO Major Assessment grades. • DUE DATE/PRESENTATIONS Begin: Thursday- October 23, 2014
