  1. 5 ways Catholics Understand Humanity Learning Goal: Today I will recognize the search for human purpose through a Catholic Perspective..

  2. God in human form • Jesus is our human example. • When he became flesh (we call this the Incarnation), he was able to feel the same feelings we do and suffer like we do. • Catholics believe that Jesus is 100% God and 100% man – this is a mystery of faith! • Watch C4: Ignite Your Catholic Faith - God in Human-Form? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6K6D6Vwvq5E

  3. In the video… • Why is important to have friends and not just acquaintances? • Why did God choose to send Jesus to save us? • How is Christmas connected to the Incarnation?

  4. 5 Ways Catholics understand humanity • We can not understand humanity by a set of calculations. Instead the Church has 5 statements about Humanity. • The Church believes that God is the creator of the whole world. All things are good and humans are the crown of creation. (God’s “favourite creation”?)

  5. 2. The dignity of all people lies in the relationship with God…the soul 3. Humans need to interact socially with other humans 4. All people are good but are weakened by sin and called by God to help us be forgiven. 5. Death is not the end of human existence. Life is changed not taken away. We are destined for glory.

  6. Where are the Miracles? • C4: Ignite your Catholic Faith - Is Jesus Still Giving us Signs Today? • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZUlfwefbGY • Do we still receive signs? • How do signs come in the ordinary times? • What is a peak experience?
