TPCDASTT Twist • Connotations - Change one to three words to the opposite connotation or add one to three words with the same connotation (positive to negative or negative to positive) • Add two literary devices - look at your glossary, academic vocabulary section or notes from yesterday- simile, metaphor, repetition, alliteration, personification, etc. • Add a shift in speaker - you can add it anywhere in the poem • Add a shift in attitude • Copy your new poem onto unlined paper: it’s on the black table by the window • I need your notes on the back of the poem or on a separate sheet of paper. Example notes • Connotations- removed these words or added these words • Literary devices (two different devices) - ________ and _______ • Speaker- shifted from _____ to _______ • Attitude- changed from ______ to _____ AND on the final draft • Connotations- write words in orange • Literary devices – write the added device in blue • Speaker- show the shift with a green line • Attitude- show the shift with a red line • Be ready to present your poem!
