Why a new handbook? Disasters in urban areas Most manuals only focus on rural areas A lot of guidelines are about T-shelter Our focus is more on permanent reconstruction Focus on housing It takes into account new concepts and technologies It offers context-specific options It is for field practitioners, programme managers, governmental institutions, etc. 2
